I took a break off the Epic Project of Epicness this week to make something that I've wanted for a while now, but didn't want to spend a zillion dollars on it. I made a spinning wheel! Don't worry, I've got lots of pictures of putting mine together. I'll even give you the link to the tutorial I used to make mine- its here. On to the pictures!
Label all your pieces really well. Figured that one out already. Oops. lol
Finished wheel! Yay!!! Want to see some of the yarn I spun up? I think you do!
Thats all for this week, now that I've overloaded you with pictures. I'm off to play with my new wheel. :)

Project of Epic Epicness
Ok, so I've officially started an epic project. Its being wandering around in my head for some time now, and now that I have lots of time on my hands its time to start it! For those of you who have never seen one, heres a link to my inspiration- elf coats by Katwise.
Its a recycled sweater coat, and I love it. The only problem is I can't sew for crap. But being an avid crocheter, I thought maybe I could make a crochet version! I've started on a cardigan pattern for the jacket part, then I'm going to assemble the pieces as I go. It will be everything from just plain double crochet panels to different granny shapes.
I'm using Caron Simply Soft in Plum Perfect, Watermelon, and Black. I might add more colors, but thats what I've got right now. I like Simply Soft, even though it tends to split when you're working with it. The more you use it, the less it does that. You just get used to the feel of the yarn. I love yarns that you can machine wash, and this one qualifies.
On to a couple pictures! That way you don't have to wonder about things so much. There aren't too many pictures yet, and I don't think that they're very interesting pictures, but here they are anyways. First step on the road to a Rebel Rose Coat.

Hello!
Hello!
First post happens just once! I have to get better at capitalizing letters in the correct places, I've been Facebooking too long. I guess I should define some of the things that will be in my blog. There will be lots of crochet information, links to free patterns, maybe eventually a link to my Etsy shop! (but thats only if I ever get enough things made to put in there)
I will try to update this at least once a week, and if you can't tell, I'm saying these things so that I have a guideline to follow, otherwise I'm sure this would fall by the wayside and would never again be posted in. I have a beautiful 4 month old baby girl, and am married to a wonderful man, but I'm sure there will be days where I just feel like complaining, so there will be that too. Sorry.
Now, what was I saying about a link to an amazingly wonderfully awesome crochet pattern? Oh yes. Here you go. Its a hooded scarf!
Enjoy! See you next time.
